Men of all ages can show the world the love of Jesus by living out His teachings. The Bible, in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, describes what love looks like: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” This verse gives us a clear picture of how Jesus loves, and we can follow His example in our daily lives.

First, practice kindness and patience, as the Scripture says. Kindness can be as simple as helping a neighbor carry heavy bags or sharing a smile with someone who looks sad. Patience means staying calm, even when things don’t go your way—like waiting for a friend who’s running late or dealing with a tough situation at school or work. When you show kindness and patience, you reflect the love of Jesus to others.

Second, forgive those who hurt you. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 tells us that love “keeps no record of wrongs.” Holding onto anger or grudges weighs you down, but forgiving others sets you free. For example, if a friend says something mean, take a deep breath and let it go. Forgiving doesn’t mean you agree with what they did—it means you’re choosing to love like Jesus, who forgave even those who hurt Him.

Third, serve others with a humble heart. The verse says love “does not boast” and “is not proud.” Whether you’re a teenager, a young adult, or an older man, you can serve others by volunteering at church, helping a family member with chores, or joining a community project. For instance, you might spend a Saturday helping clean up a local park or tutoring a younger student. Serving others without expecting anything in return shows the selfless love Jesus taught us.

Finally, stay close to God through prayer. Ask Jesus to fill your heart with the love described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7—a love that protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres. Prayer helps you feel God’s love, which makes it easier to share it with others. Try praying each morning for strength to love everyone you meet, even when it’s hard. Reading the Bible also reminds you of Jesus’ example and gives you ideas for living out His love.

Every man can be a light for Jesus, no matter your age. By being kind, forgiving, serving humbly, and praying daily, you show the world the love of 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Start today with one small act and let Jesus’ love shine through you to everyone around you!
